THANK YOU! YOUR SUPPORT IN THE 2021 ELECTION MEANS THE WORLD TO ME
I'm proud to serve another three-year term, and I hope to earn your and the community's support. We may not always agree, but I firmly believe that if we keep what's best for our kids and the community in mind, we will end up in the best place. Thank you.
Schools position our kids for endless possibilities
stand with me for a bright future.
I've been involved in schools since before my two children were in school. I'm a journalist who knows to ask tough questions and communicate effectively to the public.
The community first elected me to the board in 2015. I was inspired to run after serving on the Sacajawea Middle School Parent Advisory Council, where I saw the crucial need for a bridge connecting schools and community.
That's what I have done for all of Bozeman: Be the bridge between our community and the education experts in our schools.

"Douglas listens, really listens, and communicates respectfully. You couldn't ask for a better person to serve on the School Board."
– Becca Spear
I've learned you can make a difference in surprising ways
I never imagined a bunch of fourth-grade students could bring together Montana's ranchers, farmers, agriculture leaders and two U.S. Senators on an issue. But they did. And they added Scobey soil to our list of state symbols.
I was taken aback when an eighth grader – Claire Vlases – asked why we weren't including solar in the Sacajawea Middle School remodel. I helped her raise private grant money for solar panels and pushed, with her and a group of students, to make our new buildings sustainable.
I have lived our district's mission – to ensure every child "can succeed and make a difference in a rapidly changing world community." We do it on our sports fields, in the counseling offices, in our music halls, libraries, gymnasiums – and of course our classrooms. That takes work: Leadership, commitment, a view of the larger picture.
Work, service, curiosity and engagement: Aren't these traits we want our kids to learn?
Join me in creating possibilities like these for our community. Vote to re-elect Douglas Fischer on May 4.
